Floods in Mozambique have spread their devastation to Cuamba in the Niassa province, where more than 6 000 FEBA listeners and broadcasters have lost their homes and belongings.

Some of FEBA’s broadcasters were able to stay on the premises at Victory FM, FEBA Mozambique’s local station, while four others sought shelter at a nearby rescue camp with their families. Displaced listeners took up residence at a local school, with multiple families staying in a classroom. FEBA Mozambique started a project to collect and distribute second-hand clothing to those affected, and also joined forces with local churches to offer people a chance at earning an income by doing laundry and cleaning.

FEBA Mozambique has sustained extensive rain damage since December 2025. Voice of Hope FM in Beira went off air in early January and resumed broadcasting at the end of March, only for two stations in Zambezia (Impact FM and Zambezi FM) to go silent due to the floods. At the time of writing, these stations remain inoperative.

Despite the widespread chaos, God continues to work in people’s hearts, showing His grace through miraculous protection. A listener named Rachid, whose home was swept away, says, “It was a time of despair and uncertainty, but today I am standing here to proclaim that I survived it through God’s grace and the guidance I received through the Voice of Hope radio program.”

According to Reliefweb, more than 800 000 people have been affected by the floods in Mozambique alone. For more information about FEBA and its work, please visit www.febaradio.co.za
