FEBA Cambodia recently received a powerful testimony from a mother in Ratanakiri, a province on the northeast border between Cambodia and Vietnam. She and her 11-year-old daughter lived in a small village among the Punong people, and she faithfully tuned in to FEBA’s shortwave broadcasts from the Philippines every day.

One day, the daughter became ill with a high fever. The desperate mother carried her little girl all the way to the nearest hospital, but before they could reach it, the girl stopped breathing. Word reached the village, and people came to comfort the heartbroken mother, as well as prepare for a traditional funeral.

Remembering the messages from the radio, the mother prayed, “Lord, let Your will be done.”

The daughter’s body was placed in a coffin, decorated with tribal ornaments and kept partially open. Mourners gathered. Near sunset, a visiting pastor joined the group and told the mother to give everything to God. Weeping, the mother knelt next to the coffin and cried out, “Jesus, You are the resurrection and the life. If it is Your will, bring my daughter back!”

Silence fell, full of doubt and hope.

Suddenly, the crowd saw the little girl’s finger twitch. Her eyes slowly opened, and she sat up, looking around at the stunned villagers.

That evening, the villagers praised God, whose power they had witnessed with their own eyes. In the days that followed, many went to church for the first time, curious to know more about the God who had raised a little girl from the dead.

FEBA broadcasts in 152 languages, including more than 20 ethnic languages in Southeast Asia.
