“…For if the Gentiles have shared in the Jews’ spiritual blessings, they owe it to the Jews to share with them their material blessings.” – Romans 15:27

Since 1980, the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem (ICEJ) has demonstrated practical deeds of compassion across virtually every town, village, and city in Israel. Today, with the war in Gaza intensifying food insecurity, the need for assistance is more critical than ever. ICEJ South Africa is taking action by sponsoring a refrigerated truck to transport perishable, nutritious food items. This initiative not only meets immediate needs, but also conveys a strong message of solidarity from South Africa. Join us in this vital mission to nourish and uplift those facing hardship.

With ICEJ assistance:
• 250 000+ emergency food parcels have been packed and distributed
• 105+ tonnes of humanitarian equipment delivered
• 18 900+ baby bundles (including baby formula) provided
• 19 600+ personal hygiene kits distributed

Food insecurity
Due to the extended war, the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Israel has intensified food insecurity. Requests for assistance have surged by 25%, with many working families and evacuees struggling to meet their basic needs. There is an urgent need for a refrigerated truck to allow for the transport of perishable goods including dairy and meat, significantly improving the nutritional value of food baskets.

ICEJ South Africa’s sponsorship
ICEJ South Africa has committed to sponsor the operational costs of a refrigerated truck. This truck will proudly carry the South African name, so that the people of Israel can know that many in South Africa support them, despite our government’s shocking stance towards Israel.

The truck enables the distribution of essential food and supplies to thousands of families by:
• Delivering food baskets containing fresh and nutritious items, including dairy, meat, and produce.
• Expanding aid distribution to conflict-affected and underserved communities, in coordination with local municipalities.
• Ensuring that displaced families receive the resources needed to rebuild their lives.

The operating costs
The sponsorship involves a commitment of approximately R820 000 per year for three years. This amount will cover the operating expenses of the refrigerated truck, helping to ensure that thousands of vulnerable families continue to receive the essential, nutritious food they need.
