Collective Records is excited to announce the much-anticipated release of the brand new worship single, “Jesus I Need You”, an uplifting collaboration between multi-award winning South African Singer-Songwriter, Ernie Smith and newcomer, Jez Neethling.
Written and composed by Ernie Smith, the new single brings soothing encouragement to the listener. Smith explained, “Jesus I Need You is my heart’s cry, to say to the Lord that I need You more than money, more than treasure, I need You more than anything else, You are the number one person that I need in my life.”
With God as the clear focus of the new single, Jez explained, “It’s simple, we all need Jesus every day and every hour, our lives are meaningless without Him.”
The encouraging new single is now available on all digital platforms.
Smith and Jez met through The Collective music ministry, during a time when they were both on the road touring. Ernie recognized that Jez would be a perfect fit for the new track, both vocally and spiritually. Reflecting on that time, Smith said, “Jez’s heart is really connected with God and echoes the same message, our need for God during these times through COVID, and every day.”
Jez, a vocalist and member of the Jesus Collective, hopes to inspire others by showcasing God’s grace to the nations. “My ministry is purely God’s grace and purpose in my life,” she said. When talking about her musical aspirations Jez laughed, “I always dreamed of collaborating with Ernie Smith, and fortunately that dream has come true.”
The Jesus Collective (TJC) is a music ministry that consists of a collective of well-known and upcoming musicians and singers, like Jez, who have a passion for spreading the Gospel. Well-known worshippers included are Loyiso Bala, Ernie Smith, Hle, Sipokazi Nxumalo “SK”, Ntokozo and Nqubeko, Spencer J. Kennedy, Varonica Meyer, Don Vino, Jez Neethling and Pearl Adams. The Jesus Collective is the brainchild of Hilton Petersen whose heart for seeing people come to experience the love of Jesus through worship inspired him to start TJC, not only as a set of events but a ministry that reaches all demographics of people, from the richest to the poorest. All TJC events have been free of charge to audiences between 1000 and 5000 at a time.
