I want to share a testimony that deepened my faith in the Lord Jesus. For many years I worked on the opposite side of Ou Kaapse Weg, a mountain pass in Cape Town. Every day, I had to drive over that pass, which was about 24 kilometres long. My car was really acting up – coughing and sputtering – in dire need of some serious fixing. But I just couldn’t find the time to get it sorted. So, I did what any faithful person would do – I trusted the Lord and prayed for my car every single day as I made that journey.
An angel
One morning, as I went up the mountain, my car suddenly died. Desperate, I pulled over, opened my bonnet, and prayed for help. Most vehicles passed without notice, until a motorcyclist sped by, only to return and ask if I needed assistance. He quickly identified the problem and instructed me to drive slowly while he followed me to my turnoff. Once there, he overtook me and vanished into thin air, leaving me convinced that he was an angel sent by our great Lord. Overflowing with gratitude, I continue to share this testimony, giving all glory to God. The encounter reaffirmed my faith in His goodness.
I look up to the mountains
In Psalm 121:1-2, it says, “I lift up my eyes to the mountains – where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.” As I looked at the mountains that day, I found help from the Lord through the mysterious motorcyclist – an unmistakable reminder of God’s active involvement in our lives. This divine intervention continues to fill me with awe and strengthen my faith. It testifies to the power of prayer and the presence of God among us. Every time I share this extraordinary event, I give glory to the Almighty, acknowledging that it was indeed the Lord who answered my prayer and ensured my safety.
Leaving a mark on our hearts
The Lord hears our pleas for help, even in unexpected circumstances. He orchestrates interventions that leave an indelible mark on our hearts. May my testimony encourage others to trust in the Lord and rely on His unwavering love and faithfulness.
