Opinion piece by Errol Naidoo
Freedom Day (27 April 2026) marked 32 years of democracy in South Africa. Most citizens agree there is very little to celebrate. The ANC misused and perverted democratic institutions to advance its ideological agenda and loot the treasury for self-enrichment.
As a result of rampant ANC corruption and mismanagement of state resources, SA’s democracy has lost the promise it once held. An Ipsos survey revealed almost half of voters (47%) believe no political party – of the 500 registered – represents their views.
This means a new political party – able to win the trust of disillusioned voters – could become SA’s largest party. The Ipsos poll, and the Human Sciences Research Council’s ‘Voter Participation Survey’ shows support for democracy has fallen to record lows of 36%.
Family Policy Institute (FPI) is gearing up to inform and educate voters about making better choices using brief but powerful videos to help citizens understand the impact of their vote. FPI will distribute the videos on social media platforms with subtitles in Xhosa and Zulu.
FPI is leading the battle against the ANC’s agenda to legalise the sex-industry in SA – a move that will trap thousands of vulnerable women (and children) in state sanctioned sexual slavery. We’re also working to defeat the agenda to redefine man, woman marriage.
FPI’s efforts to inform parents about the dangers of sexual indoctrination in schools is gaining traction. We exposed the harmful propaganda in “Comprehensive Sexuality Education” & provided credible alternatives in “Smart Choices.”

I serve on the Board of “Rescue SA Civil Rights Alliance” (RSACRA). We will hold corrupt politicians accountable for their crimes against the people of SA in courts of law. Our first High Court case, challenging the constitutionality of race-based laws is nearing completion.
The ANC, EFF and MK parties are losing support. The Ipsos and HSRC surveys indicate, 47% of voters are not satisfied with the current political landscape and are searching for credible alternatives. A new party, representing these voter needs could replace the ANC.
President Ramaphosa has lost control of his party. Corruption is out-of-control and eating away at the ANC like a cancer. The EFF and MK parties will collapse when its cult like leaders are finally imprisoned for their numerous crimes. Opportunities for SA are huge.
FPI must therefore remain on the frontlines of the battle for faith, family, and freedom. The next three years will be critical for SA’s future. The Municipal Elections in November 2026 will be a precursor for the General Elections in May 2029. We’re working to influence both.
Significantly, however, FPI cannot sustain its vital work without adequate financial support. The anti-family groups we battle daily are well financed. FPI needs a fighting chance. Your prayers and financial support are critical for our success. Please partner with FPI today.
