We live in tumultuous times: the Middle East is in upheaval, COVID-19 continues to run rampant, corruption is evident in governments around the world, and natural disasters and extreme weather conditions claim many lives. However, throughout Scripture and current global events, we see that God works in times of crises and calls His children to partner with Him, offering hope and being His hands and feet to a world in desperate need.

On Sunday 23 May, believers around the world will gather with a united heart in prayer, commemorating Pentecost when the Holy Spirit was poured out upon the Apostles and other followers of Jesus Christ while they were in Jerusalem for the festival of Shavuot (Jews celebrated this festival on Sun/Mon 16-17 May – commemorating the giving of the law to Moses). At that time, Peter boldly shared the good news of Jesus Christ and by the end of the day, 3,000 people were added to the Church.

*There are currently numerous prayer movements focussed on prayer, in the lead-up to Pentecost Sunday – calling the Body of Christ to join in prayer for our world in these times of crises, to pray for the boldness of God’s people and for those who do not know Jesus to enter a relationship with Him.

Please join us as we pray for our world.

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere — in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” (Acts 1:8)
