Prayer Initiative – ‘Tipping Point South Africa’

Call to all believers and Christian congregations to fast and pray for South Africa!!

As described in the book of Esther – the nation Israel arrived at a critical, situation, with the potential for peace or war – depending. In answer to the prayers (and fasting) of Esther and the Nation Israel, God gave a miraculous answer to their prayers, and saved the nation from calamity

We at Moreleta Park Congregation firmly believe that South Africa finds itself in a similar critical situation, facing several “tipping point” issues, with potentially disastrous outcomes for our country spiritually, morally, economically and politically,

These critical / knife edge issues include:

General election 2019
Increasing violence and crime
Increasing corruption at all levels
Increasing hate and distrust between race groups
Moral depravity
Poverty
Tensions surrounding farms, farmers and land claims
Critically important court cases / hearings impacting the future role of the church and freedom to practice our Christian faith without interference.

We believe that, as outlined in 2 Chron 7:14, God will hear our prayers and heal our land, if we are obedient to the pre-conditions as outlined in this and other texts in the Bible. We know it to be true that our God is the same yesterday, today and forever, and are convinced He will hear our prayers and bring revival and healing to our beloved land.

With the above mentioned in mind, we are calling all our fellow children of God, throughout the country, to join us in a prayer initiative from 22 July to 22 August 2018.

To pray and seek Gods face for as families, friends, small groups and congregations for an hour or longer at least 3 days per week.
To spend time daily as individual Christians in prayer and fasting, to petition these urgent issues before God.

You will be supplied the following information:

Information on specific issues and items for prayer
Information about fasting and the role of fasting in prayer.
Teaching and information on prayer in general.

This information will be updated daily.

In addition, Moreleta Park Congregation will also be hosting an hour (or more) of prayer 3 days per week for the duration of this initiative. We will be meeting for joint prayer in the foyer of our main auditorium, on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 18h30 – 19h30 starting 23 July 2018. We urge as many of our congregation members as possible to join us in joint prayer at these times. In addition, we extend a hearty invitation to all Christians in our vicinity, who feel the urgent need to pray, to join us for these times of corporate worship.
