It is gratifying to hear how good seed of the gospel that was sown has begun to bear fruit in Thailand, even though it has taken years to germinate.

FEBC Radio Thailand, recently shared one of their listeners’ testimonies with us. Mr. P Nakhon from Ratchasima, never believed in God until he discovered God for himself, “In the past I did not believe in God. I always believed that God did not exist. I always did what I wanted to do, and just for myself. One day someone told me about God, saying that if we believe in Him, everything (sins) in our lives will be forgiven and corrected. I still did not believe it, but deep in my heart I still wanted to believe. Eventually, after I started believing, everything in my life started to change. After that I began to experience joy in my life.”

Jonathan Moritz, FEBC’s correspondent for FEBC Thailand, informed us that their youth outreach is starting to bear fruit. The station, also frequently record’s Vlog’s which are then shared on their Youtube and Facebook channels. They are also exploring other social media platforms that can be used to spread the gospel.  Jonathan recently shared another testimony with us from Ms. S from Chaiyapoom Province. She went blind a long time ago, after chemicals splashed into her eyes at the factory that she worked at. It not only caused physical blindness, but also a “mental blindness” that caused her to want to commit suicide. During the difficult times, the There is the Dawn program from FEBC Thailand encouraged her. The program shares inspiring stories to uplift listeners.

Listener, Mr W Nakhon from Thammarat province shared, “I have been listening to your programs for almost 2 years. It is a good program that broadens my insights, encourages me, and helps me to know more about God.

Ms S Surat from Thani province says she found God after attending church with a friend and accepting Him as her Saviour. She was given a Bible; and after hearing about the available Bible courses on the radio, it piqued her interest to enrol for the courses.

In northern Thailand, the seeds of the gospel sown into the Shang community fell into good ground and has even begun to germinate. The Shan people, also known as the Tai Yai, are an ethnic group in Southeast Asia, and they adhere to Buddhism. The Shan people consist of a transnational minority community living in the Shan state. They also live-in parts of the Mandalay region, Kachin state and Kayin state. Missionaries have worked among the Shang community for years with little success.

Their story is told by one of our listeners, Mu Ling, a resident who accidently heard the gospel on the radio in Thailand. Mu Ling wanted to commit suicide. He was sweeping in the front of his house while listening to a tape recording, when suddenly the machine fell to the ground. The bank stopped playing and the instrument then switched to a shortwave broadcast by a well-known Thai evangelist from FEBC. The program encouraged him to accept Christ as his Saviour.

The first step he took after accepting Christ as his Lord and Saviour, was to remove all the Buddhist religious idols from his house. Although his family didn’t understand it at first, with time they came to accept it.

There are also so many other testimonies that demonstrate the fruitfulness of the ministry in Thailand. Mr S Nakhon one of our listeners from Ratchasima, is currently in jail but can still attest to the joy and hope he experiences daily, “I am currently in jail, but happy and hopeful. I also have goals for my life because I know God. Before, I was always sad and knew only sorrow; and had no goals. Thank you for the lessons you provide, and for your advice.”

Mr. K, Nakhon of Ratchasima Province says: “After hearing about Jesus Christ, I realized that Jesus is our Saviour. I have now made Jesus Christ the centre of my life, and I thank God for that.”

Testimonies just like the one’s you’ve read, are never taken for granted and is assurance that the hard work is not only blessed, but that it has the approval of God.
