With pastors and churches being scarce, many people living in the urban areas of Southeast Asia have limited access to resources for pastoral training and discipleship.
FEBC’s (Far East Broadcasting Company), an International media ministry, staff in Cambodia recently hosted a successful outreach, called “Disciple Making Movement” seminar for some of these remote communities.
Using their expertise, FEBC staff equipped these village communities with the knowledge of how they could cultivate community-based small groups, based on Biblical principles. These future leaders were excited to deepen their relationships with other believers in the community, as well as reach out to the lost by inviting them to their meetings.
Many testimonies were shared of how the outreach impacted the participants’ lives, one of them being, “Thank you for this second [Discipleship] class. I was so happy to get some ideas on how to seek the person of peace and some strategies to start a small group in the community. I’ve learned prayer is the most important part of mission preparation and evangelism. I thank God for giving us a good time. I will practice taking care of my small group and will continue to seek out Jesus. God bless you, teachers.”
