Pastor Mike Signorelli and worship leader Sean Feucht have announced a historic worship event to take place Oct. 4, in New York City’s Times Square.
“You are standing in ground zero,” Signorelli said. “October 4th, Time Square, Sean and I are joining forces and we are going to do a historic unprecedented event.”
Feucht joined the livestream from the Trump Doral Hotel in Miami, sharing that he had recently led worship at Mar-a-Lago and the U.S. Capitol Rotunda. “It’s just been really cool watching God break in to these places of influence and notoriety and seeing Jesus lift,” he said.
The event is being billed as more than a concert, with Signorelli declaring, “This is a mobilization of an army.” The vision is to gather thousands at what he calls “the crossroads of the world” and shift the attention of one of the most distracted places on Earth to Christ.
“We get to shut it down to give all the attention and the glory to the one that we love,” Feucht said. “We are sanctioned with a permit to actually go in and turn the key and focus the attention of planet earth from Times Square on King Jesus.”
Organizers say the event has received official sanction from the New York City Mayor’s office. “To get New York City Mayor’s office approval, that’s the greatest miracle,” Signorelli said. “I believe the finances will come.”
According to Feucht, the event will cost an estimated $250,000. “We want the best sound, the best quality, the best live stream, the best everything,” he said. “We got to work with New York City, and we got to get security, and we got to pay for police.”
Signorelli emphasized that this is a divine moment. “There are divine calendar days in history where things happen that move the body of Christ forward,” he said.
He also noted the spiritual contrast of the event’s location. “I’m not even going to turn around right now because there’s literally two naked women right in front of me,” he said. “Here in Times Square, Satan puts on display every form of perversion.”
The pair closed with a call to believers around the world. “If you have never worshiped God in the center of Times Square, like this is your moment. We’re just calling for the nations of the world to join us together as we put on the biggest welcoming party for the presence of God that New York City’s ever seen.”
