CSE, otherwise known as Comprehensive Sexuality Education, is currently being implemented in schools in South Africa by the Department of Basic Education (DBE) & UNESCO. It is also being rolled out globally in various nations with the support of UNESCO and other UN agencies and international organizations such as Planned Parenthood who are notoriously known for their profit focussed abortion clinics.

To get more information about Planned Parenthood and their agenda, watch the video at the end.

Family Watch International, an internationally renowned organization that stands for Family values and morality, has identified fifteen harmful effects of CSE. A summarised version of them appears below:

CSE:

  1. Sexualises children by normalizing & glamorizing child sex
  2. Teaches children to consent to sex & how to negotiate sexual encounters with the children
  3. Normalizes high risk sexual activity like anal & oral sex
  4. Promotes homosexual & bisexual behaviour
  5. Teaches children sexual pleasure & that they are entitled to it
  6. Promotes solo/mutual masturbation
  7. Eroticizes condom use
  8. Promotes early sexual independence
  9. Fails to establish abstinence as a goal
  10. Promotes gender confusion
  11. Teaches abortion
  12. Promotes peer to peer education & sexual rights advocacy
  13. Undermines traditional values & beliefs
  14. Violates & undermines parental rights
  15. Refers children to harmful resources

Sexuality is certainly an aspect of education that must be taught to children to keep them safe and protected, but not in the manner that CSE is being taught.

Parents must be the primary educators and take overall responsibility for educating their children on sexuality. Sexuality cannot be taught in a one-size fits all manner. Children are unique and have different personalities and learning abilities. It is parents who know their children best and will know what approach to take in teaching them on this very sensitive subject.

Secondly, the primary responsibility of teaching children is given to parents by God. Proverbs 22:6 is the key scripture that mandates parents to teach and train children when they are young. Deuteronomy 6:6 & 7 also instructs parents to teach their children diligently and in alignment with Kingdom principles.

As a group of concerned citizens and parents, we have come together to partner with Focus on Family to roll out FSE, Family Sexuality Education. FSE is a sexuality program that will empower parents and help them overcome any cultural hindrances that impair them from teaching they children. FSE will help parents educate their children in a biblical and scriptural manner that focusses on the promotion of abstinence.

The “No Apologies Curriculum” is a life skills curriculum based on character development. Character development includes the development of character traits such as integrity, courage, helpfulness, respect, self-control, perseverance and honesty.

The curriculum focusses on the following areas:

  1. HIV and AIDS Prevention (Self-respect and respect for others)
  2. Teenage pregnancy prevention. (Self-control)
  3. Drug and alcohol abuse prevention (Courage to say no!)
  4. Child sexual abuse prevention. (Skills to protect themselves)
  5. Hooliganism and Bullying (Helpfulness and respect)

In taking responsibility for educating their children, parents will be aligning with their God given responsibility and will get the opportunity to impart their faith, worldview and values in them. It will also provide them with an opportunity to strengthen their parent-child relationship.

As an initial start we are making a call for 100 Christian educators in Pretoria who will volunteer to be trained on the FSE program using the No Apologies curriculum. These educators may also be deployed as train the trainers in other areas.

  1. It is very important that there are alternatives to the liberal ideology which permeates the UNESCO ITGSE content and curriculum. There is an evident need for parents (especially) to engaged in the process of teaching their child/ren about sex and sexuality, which is something that will literally affect and impact them for their lifetime. This Family Sexuality Education curriculum a very timely initiative.

  2. Sex education does not need to be this explicit and illustrated. Let children enjoy their childhood and parents shall teach them about sexual education as they feel comfortable.

  3. It is not the school’s place to teach sex! Only anatomy in the biology class. Sex education is for the parents!!!
