Who am I, from where and what do I do?
I am Sima Mabizela, I represent Gauteng – Midrand. My profession is a Business Development Manager – with 13 years of experience in the IT Industry. I am Super-wo-MOM in my own best, a homemaker, a career woman, a friend, a mentor, and many times I am that foundation that balances my household.
Why I decided to go on this journey?
I joined the SQGEA in association with Ms Globe Afrique – because “any average African woman with a passion for doing remarkable things like myself, should join the SQGEA”. The Pageant promotes mental, physical, emotional, and soulful well-being. It serves as a platform for all women to have a voice and use it for causes that have an impact on our continent, Voice for the Voiceless.
1st PETER 3:3-4 says “Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewellery or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet Spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.”
Precisely! What SQGEA In Association With Mrs Globe Africa is doing. The Pageant does not just look at external beauty, it looks at the Heart, the Inner Beauty to Serve our Nation with Diligence and Love.
What do I hope to achieve?
I want to improve my oratory skills and continue to advocate on behalf of the community. I stand against Boy Child abuse and negligence. That’s where my heart is and where I want to make the difference. I want them to become major foundations in their virility and for their future families. It seems to me that we’re missing an important element in The African Boy Child.
Proverbs 31:8-9 Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.
What are some of the challenges that I am facing thus far and how will I overcome them?
Raising funds for my journey, is really challenging. However, if I am unable to speak out for myself and request assistance where I am battling and need help, how will I be able to be the voice for the voiceless? Why is important that I win?
What really sets me apart and the reason why I should win is that I recognize that this is a job to Serve, it comes with great responsibilities, it is not just about beauty and the crown. Beauty Pageant requires good marketing and management. It is set up on the following pillars, having internal beauty with brains, love, diligence, and a warm heart, filled with kindness. Baring this in mind, the ideal ambassador should reflect these qualities for her Pageant and Community.
