There seems to be very little good news about anything nowadays. The Covid-19 pandemic continues its social and economic carnage, State facilitated corruption and maladministration persists, attacks on marriage, the family, the innocence of children and religious freedoms appear to be escalating – and media deception and conspiracy theories abound.
What we are grappling with is not so much a political, economic or moral crisis, as it is a Crisis of Truth. In Matthew 24, Jesus warned the sign of the times close to His return will be marked by deception. In fact, He said, (v4) “Take heed that no one deceives you.” The only way you and I can inoculate ourselves against deception is to be grounded in Biblical Truth.
To be sure, deception is everywhere. I often hear people say, “we don’t know what to believe anymore.” It is the sign of our times. Tragically, deception also appears to be increasing in the Christian Church as certain leaders and even entire denominations have rejected sound doctrine and embraced the profane to gain favour with political powers.
The deception surrounding the origins and spread of the Covid-19 pandemic has sown distrust globally. Suspicions about the Coronavirus vaccines are growing as millions of people refuse to trust their governments efforts to curb and eventually end the pandemic.
The majority of citizens in South Africa are struggling to make sense of a government that appears to use every opportunity to loot tax-payers money – even during a deadly pandemic. The ANC operates more like organized crime than the governing party in a constitutional democracy. Witness testimony at the Zondo Commission exposed a staggering litany of corruption, theft, fraud, looting, racketeering, money laundering and gross maladministration that crippled State Institutions and brought the country to the brink of bankruptcy.
The Commission heard shocking testimony recently about the State Security Agency (SSA) – an agency tasked with protecting the nation from domestic and international foes – that cannot account for R9 billion in assets. Hundreds of millions of its budget were reportedly siphoned off to former president Jacob Zuma who refuses to appear before the Zondo Commission despite a Constitutional Court ruling compelling him to do so.
And while the ANC led government steals and wastes billions of tax-payers funds, they struggle to find the money to pay for the vaccines and have even suggested raising taxes to do so. Shortly after the Covid-19 crisis hit in March 2020, R577 billion was allocated to fight the pandemic. Billions was lost to corruption by ANC bigwigs, their family members and cronies despite President Cyril Ramaphosa promising this would not happen. It happened.
The Ramaphosa administration has made several promises to citizens. It has already broken most of them. Government promised serious action against the corrupt, an end to ANC looting including the politically connected, increased efforts to end violence against women, improved and more accountable governance, an independent NPA given teeth to prosecute the corrupt without fear, and significant improvements in the fight against crime.
But despite government’s best efforts, they continue to fail. They promise righteous governance while corruption/crime rates soar. They promise equality to the poor and marginalized while poverty and unemployment deepens, they promise vulnerable women justice while sexual exploitation and abuse continue to escalate. So, what’s the problem?
South Africa is in the grip of a Truth Crisis. Deception is everywhere, so Truth fails. And if Truth fails, our society fails. Foundational institutions like marriage and the family are currently being redefined to fit a wicked ideology, education has given way to sexual indoctrination to pervert innocent children while the Church remains mostly silent.
The Scriptures provides the answers, “In transgressing and lying against the Lord, and departing from our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood. Justice is turned back, and righteousness stands afar off; for Truth has fallen in the streets and equity cannot enter. So Truth fails, and he who departs from evil makes himself a prey.” Isaiah 59:13 –15.
As a consequence, without resurrecting the Truth in the streets of SA – our nation cannot be revived and restored. The only way to expose and pull down the lie, is by boldly proclaiming the Truth – Biblical Truth – without fear or favour. But Truth is in short supply in South Africa.
Somebody said, “What is preached from the pulpits, will resound in the pews.” However, South Africa needs much more than preaching Biblical Truth from the pulpits, we desperately need to hear the proclamation of the Truth in the streets – public places – of the nation.
A clarion call must sound, summoning all those entrusted with the Truth, to boldly proclaim that Truth – in the city streets – without compromise. Truth lies mortally wounded in our streets – advancing spiritual and moral decay. The Church of the living God is the pillar and ground (foundation) of the Truth. 1 Tim 3:15. South Africa’s foundations are weakening, the pillars are crumbling. Only the Church of the living God can reverse this crisis with the Truth.

If the foundations are destroyed, what can the [unyieldingly] righteous do, or what has He [the Righteous One] wrought or accomplished?
Psalm 11:3 AMPC
EXCEPT THE Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it; except the Lord keeps the city, the watchman wakes but in vain. [Ps. 121:1, 3, 5.]
Psalm 127:1 AMPC
So everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts upon them [obeying them] will be like a sensible (prudent, practical, wise) man who built his house upon the rock.
Matthew 7:24 AMPC
When God saw from the beginning Adam was alone, He made him a wife, a full grown woman not another man or a child!! Gay and Lesbian marriages is not Gods will neither children marrying parents or brothers and sisters!!! Go and read your Bible!! That will be punished by God!
God created man and formed a woman to walk side by side as husband and wife. Marriage is only sacred in the eyes of God when man and women come together in holy matrimony. The bible says one man one woman and not man to man, or woman to woman or whatever else. Period
I’m totally against the new law.
