In 2018 my life changed dramatically. After being married for almost three years, adopting my brother’s son, studying law, and being very successful in my career at MTN, I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lymphoma Cancer. My world shattered – every aspect of my life changed.
My husband was forced to take care of me on a full time basis. Not knowing anything about this disease, I was completely in the dark (not to mention having the greatest fear of dying). My dream was always to fight for people who are unable to fight for themselves as a lawyer and later hopefully a magistrate, but little did I know that I had to prepare for the greatest fight of all – the fight for my life.
Trying every potential solution
Struggling to put food on the table in these difficult times, my husband and I started a pest control business, Connor Pest Control Service. This really helped us as we registered the business in 2019, which was right in the middle of my chemotherapy at Tygerberg Hospital. Being very weak, we then heard about an oil that helped a lot of cancer patients. My husband and I decided to obtain it and try it. After the first dose it made my body turn for the worse – I was rushed to hospital and came very close to dying. The product dropped my blood count tremendously after I was already dismissed from hospital. On arrival back home, the hospital contacted my husband to rush me back where a specific injection was being kept on ice for him to collect and give to me, as my fatality was guaranteed within an hour.

God healed me!
I completed my chemotherapy under a lot of stress, keeping faith in God no matter how severe things got. At the end, I was told that the tumours has disappeared; the biggest one had been between my heart and lungs. I was ecstatic as I had promised God that should He heal me, I was then going to tell everyone what He had done for me. This was after I was told by my haematologist that two patients, same gender and exact same type of cancer in the same areas, had passed away.
The fear of Covid-19
At the end of 2019, when Covid-19 was a huge looming threat to our country, I was in remission and attending counselling sessions at Tygerberg Hospital. This journey affected my anxiety levels majorly. As per the professors at the hospital, it was not safe for me to go and collect tablets or to proceed with the sessions as Covid-19 could kill me.
In 2020, while the chemotherapy was still active in my body, my son was exposed to Covid-19 when his best friend tested positive. We were in total shock and knew that the possibility was great that he could also have been infected. This was at the same time as some of my family members in Kraaifontein were also very sick with this virus.
Oxygen Products – a blessing
