A quiet war is being waged against one of the most horrifying evils of our time—child exploitation and trafficking. Speaking up for those who cannot cry out for justice of their own is none other than former NFL quarterback Tim Tebow.
As Tebow pointed out on the Shawn Ryan Show, the human trafficking and online abuse epidemic is beyond terrifying. Tebow and Ryan note that one whistleblower uncovered over 111,000 unique IP addresses linked to platforms trafficking in child abuse material. Another investigator referenced 20,000 unidentified victims whose images and videos have circulated online—children whose names, locations and identities are still unknown. That number has since surged to more than 50,000.
“Until someone knows them, how could somebody rescue them?” Tebow. This question has become a rallying cry.
This heart for children in desperate need of aid first hit Tebow years ago when he met a boy in the Philippines whose feet were on backward—a physical difference that led the child to be treated as cursed and unwanted. The encounter broke Tebow’s heart and ignited a lifelong mission. After graduating from the University of Florida, he launched the Tim Tebow Foundation, and now plays a key role in combatting human trafficking and supporting exploited children.
Reflecting on a key moment, Tebow recalled a heart-wrenching testimony from a woman who explained the gravity of the human trafficking situation. “What breaks your heart the most? And she wrote down the number 20,000. And I said, ‘What does that mean?’ She said, ‘It’s a problem.’ I said, ‘What problem is that?’ It’s the 20,000 boys and girls that have been abused and their images and videos have been captured, but nobody has been able to identify them.”
This fight is far from over—but it’s no longer being waged in silence. With voices like Tim Tebow’s rising to speak for the voiceless, and brave individuals exposing the darkest corners of the internet, a new wave of awareness and action is breaking through. Tebow’s mission is a declaration that every child matters, every life is worth rescuing and evil will not go unanswered. As long as even one child remains unseen and unidentified, Tebow and those standing with him refuse to look away.
Now the question remains: Will we?
