Time2RiseSA is a Holy Spirit-led initiative that unites believers across South Africa and encourages them to have hope for a better nation and to be a force for change. It was birthed out of an initial meeting of 300 people in Bloemfontein. One of the key objectives of this movement is to change the current culture of negativity into a culture of love and hope.

Time2RiseSA projects
The initiative has several campaigns and projects that have already started, one of which is the SA Connect project. The SA Connect project endeavours to connect believers by sharing blueprint solutions and good news projects for South Africa. This is intended to motivate, mobilise, and provoke citizens of South Africa to focus on the good things that are being done in the nation and to do more in that regard.

The Simunye Challenge
South Africa is home to diverse cultures and ethnicities. This nation is a beautiful myriad and tapestry of God’s creativity. It represents different races, cultures, ethnicities, and languages. We are diverse in oneness and one in our diversity. In Zulu we say, Simunye, we are one!

The #SimunyeChallenge is a Time2RiseSA campaign. It is geared at focusing the nation on our oneness and commonalities whilst celebrating our diversity.

Simunye means that we put our differences aside and embrace our common humanity in true Ubuntu fashion. Simunye is where we dispel all negative stereotypes about each other. The Simunye Challenge is about dropping all the suspicions and biases that we have of one another and moving towards mutual trust, respect, and love for each other.

The Simunye Challenge is where the mistrust and distrust stop. Biases and negative stereotypes are usually borne out of ignorance and not knowing the richness of each other’s cultures. In the Simunye Challenge, we encourage everyone in South Africa to get to know one another by:

• Studying and learning another South African language that is not your mother tongue.
• Studying and learning another culture that is not the culture you were born into.
• Intentionally developing friendships and relationships with people outside of your own race and ethnic grouping.

Participants in the challenge are also encouraged to:
• Send video testimonies of their cross-cultural friendships.
• Send video messages of themselves speaking in a South African language that is not their mother tongue and send messages of hope to the rest of South Africa and Africa at large.

More information on the challenge can be sourced from the Time2RiseSA website and on the Simunye Challenge Facebook page.

Partnering with other South African initiatives
Time2RiseSA recognises the good work that is being done by many other Kingdom initiatives. It has no intention of “re-inventing the wheel” and repeating what has already been done. To this end, the movement works hand in hand with other already-established networks such as One SA, Unashamedly Ethical, Devoted Citizens, African Enterprise, Tribe, and several prayer movements in South Africa.

Time2RiseSA conference
The Time2RiseSA conference is scheduled from 6-8 October at the Wilde Als farm outside Bloemfontein (where the It’s Time inaugural gathering was). For more information about the conference and the vision, mission, and objectives of this movement, visit time2rise.co.za

Let’s gather and meet at the conference, connecting as a people who are ready to take our nation by the hand and guide her into her redemptive purpose!
