President Cyril Ramaphosa recently expressed hope that his nation can emulate Israel’s approach to economics and technology.

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa sees Israel as a shining beacon of progress, incentivizing its citizens to innovate and create through special “challenge funds.”

President Ramaphosa made these comments during a recent economic policy address to women business leaders in Johannesburg. At the event, he said he hopes that South Africa can emulate Israel’s approach to funding research to create a high-tech economy similar to startup nation.

  1. Mr Ramaphosa, Cape Town rejected Israel’s offer to help with their technology of desalination of sea water to solve the city’s drought problem. It was rejected.
    Israel has agreements with 260 countries where they are assisting in various projects.
    I suggest you as the central government enter into negotiations, if you are serious.

  2. Pres Cyril prayses Israel and commend the way they are innovative, yet on a whim diplomats are withdrawn and cooperation between universities are suspended. What does SA really want?.

  3. I think the President should tell South Africans to emulate the way Isreal has not forgotten God and God has never forsaken them.

  4. Bring God back into our country, into parliament, into the schools, into our justice system. Our country has taken God out of the equation thinking that we can do it on our own.
