I regard it as a privilege to say thank you to my pastor, TN Jili, and his wife, LE Jili, for being such a blessing to our church – the Apostolic Faith Mission Sweetwaters Assembly in Pietermaritzburg. We are fortunate to have two branches, yet we never feel neglected. Whenever we need support, it is always provided.

Many reasons to be grateful
There are two main reasons why I felt compelled to write this letter of appreciation. The first relates to an incident that happened to my relative, who was a member of the church 11 years ago, and the second concerns the loss of my mother 9 years ago. My relative lives near Henley Dam, along the Duzi River (Msunduzi).
Henley Dam tragedy
My relative runs a children’s home for orphans and destitute kids. Tragically, one of the children fell and drowned in the dam. The community couldn’t locate the body, so lifesavers were called in to help the family find it and gain closure. The lifesavers began their work at 8 pm, and it was raining heavily. Pastor Jili and his wife, this devoted man and woman of God, were there to support the family with prayer and their presence. It was only after midnight that the body was found, and the family could finally find closure.
My tragedy
On the 14th of June 2015, I lost my mother. Although my extended family has their own church, which provided full support, the Jili family and the rest of our church members also offered unwavering support. I thank God for this lovely couple who are guiding us toward eternal life through our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
