Arlene and I depart for Johannesburg on 17 Sept for strategy meetings in preparation for the “CESE Africa Summit” held at the UNISA Campus in Tshwane/Pretoria 20 – 22 Sept.

The Summit brings together global experts to strengthen the fight against sexual exploitation and abuse, Gender Based Violence (GBV) and child abuse in South Africa.

President Cyril Ramaphosa declared Gender Based Violence “the second pandemic.”  The Covid-19 pandemic has largely subsided. Tragically, however, the GBV pandemic that includes sexual exploitation, abuse, rape and murder remains rampant in South Africa.

Alarmingly, government has not demonstrated the same level of commitment to the fight against the GBV pandemic as it has Covid-19 – despite numerous promises. Only about 5 percent of violent crimes against women and children are successfully prosecuted in SA.

The SA Police Services (SAPS) crime statistics reveal At least 6,083 people were murdered in South Africa between 1 January and 31 March 2022. That’s 67 murders per day – which translates into more people dying violently in South Africa than in war torn Ukraine.

This represents an increase of 22% or 1,107 more people murdered compared to the same period last year. Alarmingly, increases in reports of children and women being murdered have shot up by 37.2% and 70.5% respectively and almost 11,000 rapes reported.

The ANC government has failed women and children (and society in general) miserably,    despite claiming to make GBV a “national priority.”  Billions are allocated to the fight against GBV with no discernible improvement to the safety & dignity of women & children.

That’s why the Christian Church and civil-society must lead the fight against GBV in SA.

The “CESE Africa Summit” provides Church and civil-society leaders with research-based data from some of the world’s leading experts in the field of ‘the pornography public health crisis,’ the ‘real dangers of state-sanctioned prostitution,’ and ‘the sexualization of minor children’ as grooming techniques to advance the dangerous “sexual rights” ideology.

Christian citizens in particular must arm themselves with the facts about the insidious agenda of the global sexual rights movement that is currently advanced in SA’s education system through “Comprehensive Sexuality Education” (CSE) – to indoctrinate children.

An article quoting Dr Antoinette Basson’s research on porn addiction among children reveals about 55 percent of SA children regularly view pornography online with at least 10 percent watching every day. SAPS latest crime stats indicate there were 53 rapes at primary and high schools between January 1 and March 31. One of these rapes was at a crèche.

That’s why Sharon Slater’s special training session at the Summit on 22 Sept entitled, “Protecting Children from Premature Sexualization & Sexual Exploitation” is so critical.

Disney released its “Little Demon” cartoon and Peppa Pig introduced a “gay” couple.

“The National Centre on Sexual Exploitation” CEO, Dawn Hawkins urged Instagram to suspend Pornhub’s account. Hawkins work at NCOSE is dismantling the global porn network to end sexual exploitation. She is a keynote speaker at the Summit

I invite Church and civil-society leaders to register for the Summit online by emailing me details. You can register for the livestream sessions to learn more about the growing threats against women and children including the initiatives to combat it.

The fight against GBV including the drivers of sexual exploitation like pornography and prostitution requires a unified national effort from government, the Church, civil-society, NGO’s, the media and health and education departments – based on factual data.

Someone said, “A nation is judged by the way it treats the most vulnerable members of    society. ” By that criteria alone, South Africa is failing dismally. But this can change if you and I join this noble battle. Please join us at the Summit 20 -22 Sept via livestream.
