The DA in the WC Provincial Parliament has called on its Speaker to investigate and sanction ACDP Provincial Leader Ferlon Christians for defending George Mayors right to publicly express his personal Christian beliefs and views. The DA has already instituted disciplinary action against their Mayor of George and now wants to discipline the ACDP’s Ferlon Christians too.

DA IS DISCRIMINATING AGAINST CHRISTIANS:
The DA will clearly not rest until Christians are no longer allowed to express their beliefs in public at all, and if they do, the DA wants sanction to apply. “This is religious discrimination and bullying,” says Mr. Christians “The DA would never attempt to shut down religious freedoms of muslims and Jews so why attack us Christians?”

HATEFUL CORRECTIVE RAPE IS NOT CHRISTIAN:
The DA’s attempts to link what the Bible says about homosexuality with a rise in “corrective rape” statistics in South Africa is plainly reckless and false. Another falsity is the DA’s reliance on the claim that “corrective rape in South Africa is the highest in the world.” There are no statistics to back up this misleading and sensation-seeking exaggeration to justify their anti-Christian agenda.

True Christians don’t attack or hate people we disagree with. We love them, serve them and pray for them, as the Bible instructs us to. “Corrective rape” is a misguided attempt to hurt, punish and “correct” homosexuality by someone who harbours intense emotions of hate and intolerance. Christians don’t feel that. Christians don’t believe that. And Christians don’t behave like that.

The ACDP does not condone attacks on any individuals, including homosexuals. We condemn violence and hate expressed in all its forms including “corrective rape,” says Mr. Christians.

DA ALSO WANTS ACDP TO DEAL WITH MR. CHRISTIANS:
The ACDP will not “deal with Mr. Ferlon Christians” as the DA has demanded. Instead the ACDP welcomes and applauds his defence of the South African Constitution’s right to freedom of belief and freedom of expression given to every South African including Christians.

Christians in the DA and who support the DA need to realise that the DA does not respect the Bible, the DA does not respect your Christian beliefs and will bully you into silence as it has done with the Mayor of George.

  1. I find this difficult to believe, admittedly I have lost respect for the DA some time ago.
This is the final straw, my vote will stay with ACDP..

  2. I knew the DA had it in for Christians – no one supporting abortion or harmful homosexual lifestyles that are scientifically proven to be harmful and responsible for rise in STI’s truly cares for such a community. That is why Christians want to help them by discouraging them from the lifestyle. And any christian that endorses such violence as the answer is NOT christian at all! I was a lesbian but God saved and changed my heart.

  3. cannot believe the DA would involve themself in this ….me to have little or no respect left for them …..sad situation

  4. Going right the way back to Van zyl Slabbert, the DA have been supported by George Soros’ Open Society. While we can agree with some things the DA does, they clearly have an anti-Christian agenda. It is why I was disappointed when the ACDP went into coalition with them.

  5. The DA has just lost its court-case against Ms. P de Lille i.r.o. her DA-membership issues. Now, if the DA could lose in such an easy dispute and i.r.o. such an uncomplicated issue (i.e. P de Lille’s right to an opportunity to redress inside the party in mitigation of the charges against her), then it stands to reason that the DA could possibly have made other judgements of error too … for instance regarding its ‘politically-correct’ yet Biblically-incorrect pro-LGBT and pro-GayMarriage stand.

  6. I want to challenge the DA to either agree with this speaker or repudiate him. Depending on their response I will vote in future.

    • Henry I agree with your challenge. As far as I know Musi Maimane and his family is born again Christians. I would like to hear his view on this.

  7. I will definitely not vote DA again if that is their stand.I am a Christian and proud of it.If the DA believes in abortion and homosexuality then count me out.I thought the DA had morals and Christian principals but obviously I was wrong.

  8. Is this not to accommodate everyone into the politcal party? It is the only way there will be a fair election, if everyone can stay away from a certain faith. Even as a Christian, working for Christian media, we try to stay neutral in politics, to accommodate everyone. Can’t we focus on what is best for our country and not look at this from an emotional point of view.

    • You are advocating a compromise of our belief. We are warned in Scripture what happens to those who are lukewarm. If we are not allowed to speak our minds according to our beliefs then how can it be correct for non believers to speak their minds according to their beliefs? When people call for tolerance for the views and beliefs of all it would seem as if they want tolerance for their beliefs but do not offer the same in return for Christians. Islam has a history of violence yet Muslims are left alone. We are called to stand unashamed for Christ so quite simply… when keeping quiet in the face of that which is wrong we are denying Him… He in turn… will deny us. I do not support the homosexual lifestyle and I do not support abortion etc… it is my right to make that stand… calling me hateful is not only intolerant but a downright lie…Blessings

      • Agree! Too many Christians compromise and so lose their purity! There is no halfway or grey area. You either follow Christ or not. Abortion and homosexuality is from the pit. I struggled with homosexuality for years but thank God I am delivered! How can one be neutral? Once we know the Truth and still choose and support wrong – need I still continue?
We simply cannot have 1 foot in the world and one 1 with Jesus – thats whoredom.

  9. Also, I don’t get why the DA (if they really want to be heroes) sanction and investigate the numerous HATE remarks made by Julius Malema which threatens and entices violence towards the white community. You’re going after Christians that rightfully should discourage a harmful lifestyle???

  10. Well, well, well the DA leadership has finally shown its true African colours. But it should come as no surprise, as they have been lowering their morals and understanding for sometime. They cannot and will not destroy my faith and I, for one, will not support them again. This latest stance of theirs should be on social media as soon as possible.

  11. I cannot understand some christian remarks that they are going to shift their vote to the ACDP. Why were they not voting for the ACDP in the first place? Do we believe in the sovereignty of God or not? Or do we believe the answer to South Africa is in a political party. For any Christian to vote for any party other than a Christian party is mind boggling to say the least. I sincerely doubt their Christianity.

    • Well said, and Amen to that..Christians wake up !! and rise up the be the salt and light in this country !!

  12. We will inform our church members of DA in this regard and let them choose right on the next election.

  13. Musi Maimane, has gone on record in supporting the LGBT agenda. If my memory serves me correctly, he signed as a witness at a gay wedding. Yes, I agree. Let him speak his mind on the issue.

  14. If my God is not welcomed by the DA, then surely my vote is also not welcome by them. No compromise is needed.

  15. An eye opener for all the blind, to see ,what really goes on…May God give guidance ..I have made my choice long ago,as from today, I will also tell every-one who wishes to know, which way to go forward…

  16. All the remarks i have seen on top blames the DA party for “one man” that is standing up as a Councilor” for the party. That might only be his believe and not the rest of the DA. Lets give the DA leader Musi Maimane the change to reply on this.I feel just as strong about and don’t agree with the gay lifestyle or abortion ,but i would rather have a non communistic party ruling South Africa than what we have now. I don’t believe in lots of things that the DA stands for but then i think realistic about if we have a party like the EFF as official opposition or not get the ANC out of power, South Africa is doomed. This sounds to me that is the agenda of “one man ” within the DA and not everybody

  17. Mmusi, we need to know your view. What goes on in your soul? It’s all Word or its not. You can’t go in between!

  18. From where did the DA get this pro LGBT/ Gay representative? He has just lost millions of votes for the DA! Mamusi Miamane must love him for putting the DA on the pathway to political death. The ANC must have paid this guy to do it for them! Certainly he can’t have the DA’s long term success in mind by supporting a very very small minority at the expense of the large majority of DA supporters. Political; suicide!
