There is a popular parable that describes how to kill a frog. You don’t kill it by putting it in boiling or hot water, as it will jump out immediately on contact. The best way to kill it is by placing it in cold water and lull it into a false sense of security, so it thinks it is safe. Once the frog is comfortable, then you periodically keep slowly raising the temperature by a few degrees. The frog does not notice the slight temperature variations and before long, is slowly cooked alive before it has a chance to jump out.
This is exactly what is happening to citizens around the world. Many governments around the world have been slowly eroding moral and ethical freedoms that were hard fought and hard-earned. These freedoms are being eroded to give birth to new lawless, rebellious, immoral, and unethical nations. The Covid-19 climate is, in many instances, being used to cement and fast forward the taking away of these important freedoms.
The boiling frog story is often used as a metaphor for the inability of people to react to significant changes that occur gradually or events that have become commonplace.
Endangered freedoms
Human rights did not begin with the United Nations or other related international organisations. In fact, the UN has perverted and distorted the original definition of human rights to a point that they can only be referred to as “human wrongs”. The original untainted version of human rights take their origin from the Bible. For the past decade or so, the Body of Christ has been targeted specifically and directly. Our rights of freedom of religion have been slowly but surely eroded. In South Africa, we have witnessed the move to bring in hate speech legislation, the attempt to regulate churches by the CRL, and the promulgation of the banning of spanking children legislation. A primary purpose behind these pieces of legislation was to silence the Church’s voice and to curtail Christians freedom of religion and freedom to express our faith.
Rights affecting all citizens
The war is now, not only against Christians, but against all law abiding citizens. This has become a global war. If citizens of the nations do not wake up now, they will find that their freedoms and rights have been taken away and have been replaced by draconian State laws. Citizens around the world need to wake up and smell the ‘Legislative coffee’. Slowly but surely the rights of citizens are being eroded under what is being termed ‘protective legislation’.
Protect your freedoms!
These legislations and regulations that have been put in place by nations to ‘regulate’ what has been described as a Covid “pandemic” by some and a “Plandemic” by others, was meant to be a temporary response to protect lives. It is up to the citizens of the land to keep a watchful eye and hold their governments accountable to ensure that freedoms of association, speech, and religion are not taken away during this time.
For those nations that will be having elections soon, it is of fundamental importance that you understand that one of the best ways of safeguarding and protecting important freedoms is by selecting the right leaders. Be sure to select leaders with servant hearts who stand for righteous and ethical principles and for real transformation in the communities. Selection of Judges is also key as they set precedents in judgements that now determine patterns of behaviour for society! Be sure to also confront any legislation that takes away your fundamental rights and freedom by drafting petitions and taking up the matter in Court where necessary.
Lobby and mobilise your communities into action and let the citizens begin to take ownership for their communities.
