The ANC’s main focus appears to be remaining in power by whatever means possible to secure lucrative positions for its cadres so it can loot tax-payers money with impunity.
The governing party’s degeneration from liberation movement to political party and now criminal network is manifestly evident as cadres implicated in corruption, theft, fraud, money-laundering and racketeering are shamelessly appointed to senior public office.
Several corrupt and incompetent ANC administrations were recently “recalled” and replaced with equally corrupt and inept cadres – intensifying the downward spiral.
President Cyril Ramaphosa’s promise of a “New Dawn” turns out to be a nightmare. Almost every government official is under investigation for corruption and maladministration.
The Ministerial Handbook scandal provides further proof that ANC elites squander billions of scarce state resources to fund ostentatious lifestyles. The frenzied factional battles in the ANC are primarily for position – and the resulting privilege of self-enrichment.
South Africa is in severe deterioration. Evidence of political, economic and social decline is everywhere. Most analysts believe we are already a failed state. The ANC regime cannot guarantee basics like reliable energy and water – nor can it provide safety and security.
MyBroadband reports, “Over just ten years, R186bn has seemingly disappeared from SA municipalities, this is due to irregular spending. Alarmingly, the actual figures may be higher. “Financial statements from some municipalities were not credible, while others did not submit statements in time for the audit.” Of the 257 municipalities, just 27 received clean audits. While corruption and mismanagement of funds are serious issues, R186bn could have gone a long way in providing decent service delivery for myriad citizens – many of which sit without water or hygiene facilities. “Municipal officers are fully aware that it is difficult to hold them accountable and they continue to steal with impunity.”
Health and education are in crisis. The University of Cape Town (UCT) – Africa’s leading institution of higher learning is failing because in SA, ideology trumps common sense. A Human Rights Commission officials says most investigations are in the education sector.
Children are indoctrinated with perversion with little pushback. “If you claim ignorance and say, “See we did not know this,” does He not consider it who weighs and examines the hearts and their motives? And does He not know it who guards your life and keeps your soul? And will He not repay you and every man according to his works.” Prov 24:12.
The ANC regime downplays soaring crime to excuse SAPS inadequacies. South Africa’s murder rate (67 per day) exceeds that of Ukraine – a nation at war. Kidnappings have escalated alarmingly in the country. Apparently, SAPS have no intelligence or solutions.
Post “State Capture” corruption is staggering. Endemic corruption supposedly ended with Jacob Zuma’s recall. But theft, fraud and maladministration soared under Ramaphosa.
Under ANC misrule, SA lost R1,5 Trillion to corruption in 5 years & continue to bleed.
But all of this does not affect the ANC. Government officials are provided every luxury including tax-payer funded housing, travel, luxury vehicles and 24 hour police protection.
That’s why the governing party is doing its best to undermine Electoral Reform. Michael Louis writes, “The Electoral Amendment Bill is yet another constitutional crisis in the making.” Because Electoral Reform benefits citizens not political parties – it must fail.
Louis argues, “government views civil-society as its enemy.” It’s true with numerous Bills. Citizens are invited to comment on draft legislation to solicit their views (a constitutionally mandated process). But if these views conflict with the state’s agenda, they are ignored.
I participated in an online workshop on the “PEPUDA Amendment” Bill on 17 Oct. This and the “Hate Crimes” Bill are draconian legislation alarmingly reminiscent of apartheid laws.
The “Health Amendment” Bill would not be out of place in Communist China. Proposed policies like the “Single Marriage Statute,” decriminalized prostitution and “Comprehensive Sexuality Education” (CSE) are influenced by UN agencies not South African citizens.
Despite numerous warning signs the country is heading in the wrong direction, there appears to be little urgency to address the looming crisis of a potential failed state.
The ANC criminal network is destroying South Africa while opposition party’s dither. For civil-society, it’s business as usual. But it’s not! So where are the nation’s leaders?
Pray earnestly for South Africa. Speak up! And be the change you hope to see.
