Popular singer Justin Bieber offered a stirring gospel invitation to his followers, sharing with them the true meaning of Easter.
He wrote:
REMINDER! God who created the sun, trees, grass, birds, mountains, lakes, oceans, LOVES YOU! He loves you so much that he came to earth in human form, lived a perfect sinless life, To make the ultimate sacrifice! He would die on the cross to take the punishment for the wrongs that you and I have committed! Then he rose from the dead to defeat death! Meaning now when we accept and believe what he did on the cross and we die we actually graduate into eternity where there is no pain, heartache or shame at all! We will live in eternity in complete bliss! THIS IS WHAT EASTER IS ABOUT AND THIS IS GOOD NEWS
We don’t have to earn gods love, we just get to accept the free forgiveness that only Jesus offers! It’s that simple! Accept and receive !! not earn and deserve! I am grateful this Easter that Jesus rose from the dead so that I no longer have to die and be uncertain of what will happen next but I know I will graduate to a place where there is no such thing as pain!!
His message, which he posted on Instagram on Saturday, April 11, had almost 1 million likes by April 14.
Last year, when Bieber married model Hayley Baldwin, he opened up about his difficult childhood and sinful past. He said being a child star seduced him into have a prideful mindset, causing him to fall into all kinds of vices. The further he got into sin, the more he despaired—even to the point of not wanting to live anymore.
“Luckily, God blessed me with extraordinary people who love me for me,” he says. “Now I am navigating one of the best seasons of my life: ‘Marriage’! Which is an amazing crazy new responsibility. You learn patience, trust, commitment, kindness, humility, and all of the things it looks like to be a good man. All this to say, even when the odds are against you keep fighting. Jesus loves you. BE kind today. Be bold today and love people today not by your standards but by God’s perfect unfailing love.”
