Here at JOY! Magazine, we certainly exercise our faith daily – we are permanently hoping for something. I am so grateful for God’s Word. You just need to visit my office to find all the faith scriptures printed on my wall. I look at them every single day. They have been such an encouragement to me over the years. We all need a “wall” so that we can be constantly reminded of God’s promises. There is no reason to become despondent and to give up when things don’t go the way we want. Our footsteps have been ordered by the Lord. He never leaves nor forsakes us. He goes before us. This month we are facing another tricky problem, and we have asked the Lord for His wisdom. I believe that this is what He has instructed me to do.
JOY! Africa – a new discipleship book
JOY! has just brought out a stunning discipleship resource book called JOY! Africa. We are standing in faith to get this book listed on supermarket shelves nationwide. It is always such a difficult exercise trying to convince secular stores that people will buy a Christian book, or to explain why people need the Gospel. When we first brought out The Bible in a Nutshell (our book of commentaries on the Bible) we faced the same battle. The supermarkets didn’t want it, yet in total we sold almost 45 000 copies. This was a huge achievement. Now we have brought out JOY! Africa, which is aimed towards new African Christians. It will turn any convert into a disciple. Matthew 28:19 says to “go make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit…” This is a clear instruction to make disciples and not merely converts. This is our way of carrying out this instruction here at JOY!, producing a book that features every foundational aspect of making disciples.

Please help us to carry out this vision by buying a copy from your local SPAR, which is the only supermarket that we are currently listed at. If your SPAR doesn’t have it (not all SPAR’s do), please ask the manager. It would also really help us if you could enquire about the book at other supermarkets, as the managers will only stock products if there is a demand. We know that this book has the potential to save lives in a nation that is riddled with poor Christian theology and dodgy spirituality. We really need our loyal JOY! readers and fellow Christians to help us get the Word of God onto the shelves and to have it accessible to every seeker. Every request to a manager in a store is taken seriously – experience has shown us that if six or more people request a product, they usually stock it. Please help us to carry out the Great Commission in our country. Lastly, if you would like to order a copy for yourself or your staff, you can order it directly from us.
