I arrived safely in Washington DC on Monday 14 Sept and hit the ground running. I met with Marcel van der Watt, President & CEO “National Center on Sexual Exploitation” (NCOSE) the same day. A former forensic investigator, Marcel will provide expert testimony on the dangers of the ANC agenda to legalise the sex-industry in SA despite dire warnings.
An NCOSE delegation will participate in the “ACPF 3rd Pan-African Conference on Family Values” 12 – 15 May 2027 in Cape Town. Marcel will address the dangers of legalised prostitution and its implications for vulnerable women, children and general society.
I will attend the “6th Annual Commemoration of the Geneva Consensus Declaration” (GCD) at the US Capitol Complex on Tues 15 Sept. This historic event will convene ambassadors, representatives of foreign governments, officials of the Executive Branch, Members of Congress, and partners from civil society to honour the GCD 6th anniversary.
Following the event, Valerie Huber, the architect of the GCD, and President of the “Institute for Women’s Health” (IWH), will convene a reception at their Washington headquarters so I can directly engage with the IWH leadership to discuss strategic collaborations.
I invited Ms Huber and a delegation from the IWH to participate in the ACPF Conference in Cape Town in 2027. Valerie Huber will address the “abortion is health care” lie and emphasise the significance of fatherhood and motherhood in strong, stable families. The ACPF will join the IWH in promoting the value of the GCD principles to African nations.
On Wednesday 16 Sept, I will meet with leaders from the international pro-family movement to discuss partnerships and strategy to strengthen and enhance our efforts to defend and protect the sanctity of life, man, women marriage, the natural family, parental authority and rights, protection of children in education and religious speech and freedoms.
Later the same day I hope to meet with officials from the US State Department to discuss funding opportunities to support and strengthen the pro-family work of “Family Policy Institute” and the justice initiatives of “Rescue SA Civil Rights Alliance” in South Africa.
I meet with Lindsey Keiser, the Legal Counsel for Global Religious Freedom at “Alliance Defending Freedom” (ADF) on Thurs 17 Sept. ADF is the largest Christian lawyers network defending religious freedoms in the US. I invited ADF to join us in Cape Town next year to address the CRL Commission’s attempts to “regulate” the Christian Church in South Africa.
On Friday 18 Sept I will meet with Travis Webber, Vice President for Policy and Government Affairs at “Family Research Council” (FRC). Visiting FRC is always a special treat. Arlene, my son, Jared and I lived in Washington for 6 months in 2007 when I trained with FRC. Family Policy Institute was established in Oct 2007 upon my returned to SA.
I adopted Family Policy Institute’s core mission priorities to defend, protect and promote faith, family and freedom in South Africa during my tenure at Family Research Council. I have maintained a close working relationship with FRC over the past 19 years.
I have several critical issues to discuss with the FRC team. Attacks on faith, family and freedom have escalated considerably since 2007. We will discuss FRC’s participation at the ACPF Conference in SA in May 2027 – 20 years after my 6 month equipping at FRC.
I depart for SA on 19 Sept. I thank God for the major doors He opened for me in the US. I pray it will reinforce my work in SA. I am also deeply grateful to my friends and partners in this ministry – whose kindness and generosity made this trip possible. May God bless you.
