We live in a dysfunctional and broken world. Many nations are at war, or the threat of war looms largely over their existence. The Church is in a fight for religious freedom; just as the family unit is. For Biblical values to remain a vital part of society, many have to fight the resistance to these values.
A spiritual war of note
The existence of Covid has heightened the intensity of this war, a spiritual war of note. Spiritual war is not something new; there are many Biblical examples of warfare. David fought for the existence of Israel when Goliath tried to annihilate the nation. With one word and a handful of stones as part of his arsenal, Goliath was conquered.
Jehoshaphat fought against the enemy with a directive prophetic word and the nation was saved.
South Africa is at war!
Paul describes the warfare against the worship of the goddess Diana in the City of Ephesus. Her witchcraft controlled the economy of the city. Her false worship influenced the atmosphere of the city, as well as the many altars dedicated to her. Paul encourages the Church in Corinth and Ephesus to fight this war. South Africa is at war – how are you personally, and how is the Church, fighting this war?
“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, five casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God…” – 2 Corinthians 10:4-6
Nothing is impossible for God!
Every member of the body of Christ has been given weapons to fight this war; they are not carnal weapons. How we use these weapons and the intensity with which we use them will determine how the enemy’s strongholds are defeated and disarmed.
The weapon of praise, various types of prayer, prophecy, and the declaration of scriptures are all for our use. God is encouraging you to take up your weapons; the victory is yours. With the weapon of faith, nothing is impossible for God to break through and bring your deliverance. Selah!
