The assassin’s bullet that awakened the Church!

The heinous assassination of Christian activist Charlie Kirk on a university campus in Utah on 10 Sept appears to have triggered an awakening of the Church in the US. Charlie Kirk’s message promoting faith, family and freedom ignited debate among US college students.

But that’s not what motivated Kirk’s murder. Turning Point USA (TPUSA), the organization he established when he was just 18, made incredible inroads into US universities and colleges. These institutions are strongholds of the Marxist anti-Christian political Left.

Significantly, however, what was central to Kirk’s message of open and civil debate was the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Kirk boldly proclaimed salvation in no other name but Jesus. He articulated this message of truth without fear on university and college campuses across the USA. It is this message that had to be silenced by the God haters.

Addressing the Roman Empire, Tertullian, a second century Church father said, “We are not a new philosophy but a divine revelation. That’s why you can’t just exterminate us; the more you kill the more we are. The blood of the martyrs is the seed of the church.”

This statement remains true to this day. Charlie Kirk was not ashamed of the Gospel. He was convinced “it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes.” Romans 1:16. Kirk said, “I want to be remembered for courage for my faith” – and that is his legacy.

Like Kirk was motivated by his biblical convictions, his killer, Tyler Robinson was inspired by the spirit of the anti-Christ, so prevalent on US campuses. Martin Luther warned, “I am much afraid that universities will prove to be the great gates of hell unless they diligently labor in explaining the Holy Scriptures and engraving them in the hearts of the youth.” 

The media reports Tyler Robinson was in a relationship with a transgender individual “who hated Christians and conservatives.” In the past two years, transgender mass murderers targeted Christian schools, killing children in classrooms and at prayer.

Charlie Kirk became a target of this satanic ideology because he was reaching millions of young people with the Gospel of Christ on the university and college campuses of America. The assassin’s bullet was meant to silence his bold proclamation of Biblical truth.

But it’s having the exact opposite effect. According to Turning Point spokesperson, Andrew Kolvet, “TPUSA received over 37,000 inquiries in 48 hours to start new campus chapters. TPUSA currently has 900 official college chapters and about 1,200 high school chapters.

Interestingly, the death of George Floyd, a career criminal ignited a frenzy of riots, looting, wanton destruction of property and killings. The senseless murder of a 31-year-old Christian husband and father sparked prayer vigils, singing of hymns and calls for peace.

Please join me in praying for the Church in the US and the world, that this wanton act of violence will act as the seed that will inspire believers everywhere to return to the purity of the Gospel truth that salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, to the glory of God alone. And teach everyone to trust the sufficiency of the Scriptures alone.

Those led by the spirit of the anti-Christ will continue to do everything in their power to silence the public proclamation of Biblical truth. But our Lord and Savior, Jesus promised, “I will build My Church and the gates of hell will not overpower it.” Matthew 16:18.

SA’s “Commission for the Promotion and Protection of the Rights of Cultural, Religious and Linguistic Communities” (CRL Rights Commission) is attempting to “regulate” religion and “license religious practitioners.” The Commission conducted a study of abuse in religious institutions and discovered “cases of rape, human trafficking and racketeering.”

The Church in SA is infested with false teachers, fraudsters and wolves in sheep’s clothing. But a corrupt and inept state cannot bring correction in the Church. Only legitimate Spirit led Church leaders who love God, His Word and His people are qualified for this task.

The CRL Commission was established by the ANC criminal enterprise. The ANC has done the most to silence the Church. Hate crime laws and other policies were formulated to curtail religious speech to promote the sexual rights agenda of ANC ideological allies.

You and I must pray that all attempts in the US and SA to silence the public proclamation of Biblical truth will not only fail but will inspire the true Church of Christ to return to the purity and integrity of the Gospel message – because it alone is the power of God for salvation.
