Arlene and I arrive back in South Africa on 27 March following a fruitful 25 days in the US. We thank God for the significant open doors and opportunities to extend the battle for faith, family and religious freedoms at the UN and internationally through our pro-family partners.
I will focus my attention on the upcoming General Elections in the next two months. Much work will be done to educate and inform voters across the country of the real state of the nation. We plan to educate voters to make informed decisions based on fact, not fiction.
Family Policy Institute (FPI) faces significant challenges in the next few months. Besides the elections, we are monitoring several harmful pieces of legislation working its way through Parliament. FPI will mobilize citizens to defeat anti-family Bills in Parliament.
There is much happening on the political front. Old scores are being settled in the lead up to the Elections. National Assembly Speaker, Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula is suddenly being investigated for soliciting cash bribes while she was minister of defence. However, the ANC candidate list features almost one hundred cadres implicated in massive corruption.
The ANC is desperately trying to stop its former president, Jacob Zuma campaigning for the newly formed MK party. In fact, the ANC is urging the IEC and the courts to disqualify the MK party – presumably because it presents such a threat to its future ambitions.
The internal battles in the ANC may prove to be its undoing. Opposition parties have a unique opportunity to form a coalition government of national unity to save the nation from disaster. Rampant corruption and gross mismanagement has taken its toll on South Africa.
The ANC regime may attempt to ram through certain legislation prior to the elections. That’s why FPI must remain vigilant. Foreign groups are exerting pressure on the governing party to implement policies like the “Single Marriage Bill” and “Hate Crimes Bill.”
You can help keep us on the frontlines of the battle for faith, family and religious freedoms by partnering with the critical work of FPI. Please make a prayerful decision today to pray for the vital pro-family work of FPI both locally and internationally. We face formidable opposition because of our Biblical stance.
However, your prayers and financial partnership keeps us in the fight. We can’t do what we do without your support. Please donate. Thank you for standing with us in this vital task.
Standing.
