Family Policy Institute’s (FPI) pro-family ally, “Center for Family & Human Rights” (C-Fam) reports a fightback for the natural family and traditional values ensued at the United Nations (UN) recently when pro-family nations defended the family against European Union (EU), Biden administration and UN agency attempts to insert LGBTQ and trans rights in UN resolutions.
“We would like to remind everyone that the family is defined in binding international human rights instruments as the natural and fundamental group unit of society and that it is entitled to protection from society and the State,” said a delegate from Nigeria as the resolution was adopted in the “UN Commission on Social Development” last Wednesday.
Despite the UN “Universal Declaration on Human Rights” explicitly upholding the natural family as the “basic unit of society” and “sole source of social protection,” the US and EU backed by UN agencies and other leftist nations attempted to block efforts to protect the family as a pretext to obtain concessions to manufacture special rights for LGBTQ and transgender individuals.
Thankfully, however, pro-family countries delivered a statement through the Group of Friends of the Family, calling on the UN system “to play an important and active role in strengthening international cooperation in family-related issues.”
God willing, Arlene and I plan to actively support this African fightback for the family on 15 May to mark the UN designated “International Day of Families” at the United Nations in New York. On 15 May 2019, I represented Africa at the UN to proclaim the significance of the family in Africa.
The relentless assault on the natural family including the vital roles of fathers and mothers in raising healthy and stable children has caused widespread social devastation and chaos.
The “World Family Declaration” states, “The family is the natural and fundamental group unit of society and is entitled to protection by society and the State.” Hence the family exists prior to the state & possesses inherent dignity & rights which states are morally bound to respect and protect.
We declare that the family, a universal community based on the marital union of a man and a woman, is the bedrock of society, the strength of our nations, and the hope of humanity. As the ultimate foundation of every civilization known to history, the family is the proven bulwark of liberty and the key to development, prosperity, and peace.”
These truths are universal and apply to every culture, nationality and creed. Marriage between a man and woman and the family this union uniquely establishes existed for millennia and served countless civilisations throughout history. There is no credible alternative to the natural family.
Tragically, despite these irrefutable facts, the ANC regime joins the US Biden administration, the EU and UN agencies in taking a sledgehammer to bedrock institutions like man, woman marriage and the natural family to validate an irrational ideology – to the ultimate detriment of society.
This bankrupt ideology advanced by the US, EU, UN agencies and South Africa – the only African nation to do so in direct conflict with the mostly pro-family African bloc at the UN – insists that children must be de-coupled from parental authority and values to be expressly indoctrinated by strangers with harmful abortion and LGBTQ propaganda in the education systems of the world.
But they conveniently ignore that the United Nations “Universal Declaration of Human Rights” expressly states, “motherhood and childhood are entitled to special care and assistance,” and, as stated in the “Declaration of the Rights of the Child”, every child should, “wherever possible, grow up in the care and under the responsibility of his [or her] parents.”
The consequences of the relentless attacks on the sanctity of life, man, woman marriage, the natural family and motherhood and fatherhood are already tragically evident in the dystopian plunging fertility rates of the world’s nations – aptly described as the “Demographic Winter.”
For example, Japan’s prime minister says, “his country is on the brink of not being able to function as a society because of its falling birth rate.” This is the result of nations buying into the “overpopulation myth” advanced by the WEF, UN agencies and other global anti-family radicals.
Decades of social engineering policies that promote abortion-on-demand and same-sex unions as “solutions” for “population control” produced the bitter harvest of the “Demographic Winter” in which countless nations are now dying as a result of irreversible declining birth rates.
Thankfully, however, a growing number of nations are waking up to the reality that the unique contributions of man, woman marriage and the natural family it creates are indispensable to the health, stability, and economic survival of its societies – and are sanely changing course.
African nations – with the exception of South Africa – are leading the fightback for the natural family at the UN. They are joined by a growing number of countries hoping to avoid extinction.
This truth is self-evident, the natural family perpetuates life – the sexual rights ideology signals the death of nations. I set before you life and death, blessing and cursing – therefore choose life.

Great article. Point to ponder, though, why is the ANC referred to as a regime and in reference to the US, the Biden administration? The EU & UN are referred to as agencies. If one is a regime, are they not all regimes and part of the same dictatorial despots?
I Agree wholeheartedly and am sorry that we, as the only African country (South Africa) has fallen so low and supports the so called enlightened western world In this horrible, woke, mentality which is so prevalent. God bless you in your endeavours to bring the true meaning of life to the so called educators of today.
