When her energetic, colourful, and confident personality enters a room, you’d never guess that the vibrant Musa Jakuja, wife of Mzwandile, dedicated mother of three, businesswoman with over 15 years of experience as an internal auditor, and host of the Cape Pulpit 729AM show Grace Upon Grace, once struggled with low self-confidence as a little girl.
Her sense of self-worth was challenged early on by the voices of bullies who mocked her height and deep voice. “As the tallest girl in my grade, I was called a giraffe in pre-primary. The teasing affected my posture, and I tried to fit in by slouching to appear shorter. Along with comments about my deep voice, this led to a sense of inferiority and an inability to assert myself and make my voice heard. Little did I know that this experience would ensure that my confidence would not be rooted in myself, but anchored in the One who gave me this voice, Jesus Christ. Throughout my adult years, God has helped me to become resilient and bold, walking confidently with Him.”
It wasn’t an overnight journey. Musa started entering competitions to boost her self-confidence. Today, she proudly runs her own YouTube channel, All Things Musfabulous, and uses her newfound voice as a speaker and facilitator at various workshops and events. Then God stepped in, using the very voice she once saw as a weakness to glorify Him as a radio presenter on Cape Pulpit 729AM.
As a recent finalist in the Fabulous Women Awards, Musa’s life journey is a testimony of perseverance, faith in God, and the knowledge that He can turn what we see as weaknesses into our greatest gifts for His glory. Today, she can hear God say: “I see you, Musa. I have chosen you. I have called you by name, you are Mine. I have a great future for you, and it is to prosper you, not to harm you. If anything comes to harm you, do not fear, I will turn it around for your good and for My glory.”
“You are enough, you are who God says you are, you are chosen and destined for greatness! The Spirit of God lives within you, so walk daily in His Word, so you can serve others with the confidence that He walks with you every step of the way. You are made of imperishable seed, so bloom where God has planted you.”

Join Musa on Grace Upon Grace: Mondays at 18:00, Tuesdays at 12:00, and Fridays at 22:00.
