Sand Artist Brought Gospel To Cape Town This Easter Weekend

Local Cape Town sand sculptor, Michael Myekwa, has blown the public away once again with his beautiful creation on Blouberg Beach this Easter weekend.

There are two times per year that the secular public are more open to hearing the Gospel – Christmas and Easter. Michael took this opportunity to sculpt a beautiful depiction of Jesus dying on the Cross on the Blouberg Beach in Cape Town on Good Friday. Michael is well-known for these gorgeous artworks, as he has been doing so for many years. He does these artworks with no compensation, and has no steady source of income. “A talented 31-year-old artist from the Eastern Cape has drawn loads of attention at Bloubergstrand in Cape Town after completing a sculpture of Jesus Christ on the cross using sea sand. Michael Myekwa, says he did the work of art to mark Good Friday which is being observed by Christians across the world. Myekwa says he uses sand over weekends and on public holidays to sculpture different images to make a living.”

They called on a man named Simon from an African city called Cyrene to help.
