A new container shipment of Bibles, Christian books and evangelistic resources from Eagle’s Nest Love Packages has arrived in Cape Town and was delivered to Livingstone House, providing materials for mission work across Africa.

The container was unloaded on Thursday, 8 October, with the help of a team of volunteers. Despite rain earlier in the week and further wet weather afterwards, favourable conditions on the day allowed the team to complete the offloading by midday. Volunteers continued sorting and organising the materials until just before sunset.

The donated resources were sorted according to Bible translation and prepared for distribution to Bible colleges, churches and mission organisations in South Africa and neighbouring countries, including Eswatini, Lesotho, Namibia, Botswana, Zambia, Malawi, Zimbabwe and Mozambique.

According to Dr Peter Hammond, the shipment will support evangelistic outreach and Christian ministry throughout the continent. Eagle’s Nest Love Packages provides Bibles and other resources for missions, churches and ministries that distribute them to communities in need.

The wider Literature4Africa ministry continues to supply pastors, teachers, missionaries and evangelists with Bibles, Gospel booklets, Sunday school materials and Bible study resources. The organisation also sends study Bibles to Bible colleges and mission organisations across South Africa and beyond.

Hammond highlighted the importance of protecting and expanding these resources, noting that Literature4Africa requires additional Bibles in Portuguese and French, as well as large-print English Bibles for older readers in Zimbabwe.

The ministry also faces practical challenges in storing its growing collection of donated literature. According to Hammond, damage to the existing roof extension has resulted in leaks, forcing staff to protect valuable materials under canvas and heavy-duty plastic sheeting. The roof needs to be replaced to safeguard the resources from damp and further damage.

The shipment’s successful offloading was welcomed as an answer to prayer, with Hammond expressing gratitude to the volunteers who helped make the delivery possible.
