29-year-old Garin Joemath, author of Today Your Faith Matters, has a desire to see everyone meet with God in the Word each day so that they can experience the extraordinary love of God. He believes that faith in God’s love is life-changing and there is nothing in this world that His love can equate nor compare to.

Garin was born and raised in Johannesburg. Today he lives in Alberton with his beautiful wife, Shetel. The couple has been married for just over 1 year. In 2012, a turning point occurred in the authors’ life after encountering the love of God through Jesus Christ.

“I grew up in a Christian home with my parents and my brother. I saw Christianity as a religion with ordinary results and outcomes. To me, Christianity was just a way of life and was expected to be the right way of living. I never really read the Bible and I only attended church because it was the right thing to do,” says Garin.

Today Your Faith Matters includes 31 powerful daily devotionals.

Getting to know Jesus
When Garin turned 21, he was exposed to worldly living and the ‘dark side’.
“I was at an age in my life where I got pulled into drinking, parties, clubs, and wrongful living. Inside my heart I knew what I was doing was not the right thing and that God wanted more for me. I started looking for God in a religion that I got exposed to by a friend. I practiced the religion in my heart, but the more I practiced it, the more fearful I became and the more I fell into sin. In June 2012, my brother reached out to me. We both decided to attend a 9-week faith course at Rhema South Family Church, which changed our lives completely. Discovering the love of Jesus led me to repentance. I became a born-again Christian. My life took a 360-degree turn,” adds Garin. In Ephesians 2:4-5 we read, “Because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.”

“I realised that Christianity is not a religion, but a relationship. Jesus came to have a deeply personal relationship with us through grace,” says Garin. In the same year, Garin became a full time member of Rhema South Family Church and started serving in the local church. He also became involved with prison ministry at the Johannesburg Correctional Services, where he taught the Word of God and saw hundreds come to Christ.

Sharing insights and encouragement
Garin comes out of a local journalism background and studies Communication Science through the University of South Africa. He aims to further his biblical studies at a Bible College.

This young author released his first book, Today Your Faith Matters, which includes 31 daily devotionals that encourage you to believe in the Word of God, empower you with the love of God, and equip you to apply your faith as you experience more of God each day.

The inspiration behind the book
Garin shares that the book was birthed when God saved Him.
It was his faith in the unconditional love of God that inspired him to pick up the pen and share the love of God.

“There came a time when I stopped writing and did not have a title for the book. My wife and I experienced a horrific turn of events last year November. We were faced with great loss and it was a breaking point in our lives. With more turmoil that occurred in the same week, we also experienced supernatural deliverance. I can still recall when my wife’s life was in danger and how a special surgery had to be conducted to save her. What almost became our worst nightmare became a miracle. After that miracle, I decided to finish off the book with the title, Today Your Faith Matters.

The book shares true and profound testimonies that can align your faith.

Your faith does not have to remain ordinary!
“Your day does not have to remain ordinary. Faith in God’s Word can help you discover God’s plan, purpose, and unconditional love for you. This can lead you to experience an extraordinary day. The book leads you back into the Word of God. You will discover how many men and women of faith, in the Word of God, had their lives changed from the beginning to the end. It took one encounter and one day with God for each of those men and women and their destinies to change. Now that same God wants to do something and change anyone’s life that wants to open that Word and believe.

Giving thanks
“I am also available to speak at churches, conferences, schools, and events. I would love to share God’s light with everyone. I feel it is my duty to testify to each one what He has done for me and continues to do for others. I believe that God can and will do the same for you. I sincerely hope that you will buy my book and join me on the path to peace and to extraordinary living. A special thank you to my beautiful wife for always supporting me in my venture with this book, and for continuously supporting my faith in Jesus Christ. I would love to give an extended thank you to my Senior Pastors from Rhema South Family Church, Pastor Donavan and Pastor Shelley Cassell, for their leadership in our church’s life and for supporting my wife and I on our journey with Today Your Faith Matters.”
